This software provides a set of tools that are useful for moving around in a range of databases, hence the name.
Database Tour is a cross-database tool. It works via ADO or BDE to get access into databases that can be as diverse as Paradox, dBase, FoxPro, ASCII, CSV, Interbase, Firebird, Lotus, HTML, Oracle, SQL Server, MS Access, MS Excel, PostgreSQL and MySQL. Creating tables in any of these databases is possible. Complementary functions of viewing and editing of the data in these tables is also easily done. If you needed help with SQL queries, the same is available in the form of building and executing of SQL queries, execute multiple statements in the form of scripts and so on. The SQL editor that lets you create and edit these scripts helps things along by being syntax specific and can highlight the syntactical problems directly. It will support parameterized SQL building too.
Import and export of data in several formats are supported. These include text, CSV, HTML, XLS, XML, RTF, DBF or to any of supported database formats. Import of data from another table or through a query. Importing of data can be filtered according to the criteria you choose. You can copy data via the clipboard too. Several calculations, such as sum, avg, min, max, count can be carried out by the program. The diverse set of features also include viewing and editing capability of BLOB data, MEMO, graphic and RTF data; searching and replace of text with choice of fields to search and the records etc. If you needed to understand the structure of the database, just get the schema printed, copied or simply sort it. It will let you print data in several ways and you could have conditional formatting of data in database grids and reports. A customized view is possible too.
